There will be a disruption in water services tomorrow night as GWI interconnects 12-inch transmission mains and road crossing pipelines at Church Street between Vlissengen Road and New Garden Street.
In a Facebook post, the Guyana Water Inc (GWI) said that the exercise will begin at 9 pm on Monday, August 29th and will be preceded by a road closure at 8 pm.
GWI said that the project will also involve minor traffic diversion and noise associated with the use of large equipment.
“The water disruption is expected to last for 9 hours, whereas the road closure will be in effect until approximately (6 am) on Tuesday, August 30”, GWI stated.
It said that customers including health institutions and businesses within Central Georgetown are encouraged to take the necessary precautions.
It added that the contractor, Suresh Jagmohan “will reinstate any damage to private property”.
