Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh yesterday witnessed the signing of a $54m contract for the extension of the C V Nunes Primary School in Region Two.
The contract was awarded to Builders Engineering and will see a two-storey building catering for 12 additional classrooms. The contractor is expected to build a sanitary facility along with a trestle. Renovations were recently done on the C V Nunes Primary and this included the roof, ceiling, lights and windows. Upgrade works were also done on the drainage network.
Regional Education Officer, Shondelle Hercules said that teachers and parents requested the extension during President Irfaan Ali’s visit to CV Nunes Primary on May 25, 2022. Hercules said that C V Nunes is one of the top performing primary schools in the region and she is happy that the project was given priority.
