Sparta Boss and newcomer Slingerz will contest the final of the ‘Keep Ya Five Alive’ Futsal Championship on Saturday September 3rd at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, following semi-final victories on Saturday evening at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.
Sparta crushed Swag Entertainment 4-0. Jeremy Garrett recorded a two-goal haul in the 20th and 25th minute, with Ryan Hackett, and Eusi Philips etching their name on the scorer’s sheet in the second, and fifth minute apiece.
On the other hand, Slingerz FC overcame Stabroek Ballers 5-3. Delon Lanferman fashioned a hat-trick in the 28th, 30th and 48th minute, while Quincy and Dexroy Adams scored in the 46th, and 50th minute respectively. For the loser, Dorwin George bagged a brace in the 15th, and 56th minute, while Seon Taylor scored in the fifth minute.
The losing semi-finalists will contest the third place playoff. The eventual champion will pocket $800,000, and a trophy, with the second, third, and fourth place finisher receiving $400,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively, and the corresponding accolades. The final is pencilled for the 27th at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
