Two East Bank Demerara (EBD) men who pled guilty to break and enter charges were sentenced to 59 months imprisonment following their appearance before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Diamond/Grove Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
The men, 23-year-old Ravindra Singh called ‘Chowmein’ of Farm Sea Dam, EBD and 23-year-old Kevin Cush called ‘Max’ of Herstelling Sea Dam, EBD were arrested by police on Monday and charged with two counts of break and enter and larceny.
They both pled guilty to the first count, the police said in a statement.
However, on the second charge, only Singh entered a guilty plea. He was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment while Cush was denied bail and remanded to prison. Cush will make his next court appearance on October 28. Singh’s sentences will run consecutively.
