Next year a Magistrate’s Court will be constructed in the Westminster/Parfaite Harmonie housing scheme, West Bank of Demerara.
Yesterday, a team comprising of Anil Nandlall, SC, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs; Collin Croal, Minister of Housing and Water and a technical team from that Ministry; Yonette Cummings, Chancel-lor of the Judiciary (ag); Roxane George-Wiltshire, SC, Chief Justice (ag); Ann McLennan, Chief Magistrate; and a team from the Supreme Court visited a plot of land identified by the Government of Guyana for the construction of a modern court. A release from the Attorney General’s Chambers said that the plot of land is conveniently located adjacent to the Parfaite Harmonie Police Station. Construction is expected to begin early next year.
