Lightning last evening struck a small fishing boat in the Corentyne River with three fishermen, leaving one missing.
As of this morning, several fishermen and the Coastguard were heading out to search for the missing man.
According to information gathered, Ravin Chandradeo of Hogtown–Fyrish, Corentyne, his brother and another fisherman were on the boat off the Rose Hall Area in the Corentyne River, when the lightning reportedly struck hitting Chandradeo directly.
According to one of the fishermen, the hat Chandradeo was wearing split in two. He reportedly fell out of the boat after he was struck.
As of this morning, the two men who survived the lightning were at the Albion Police Station providing statements to lawmen.
