A sanguine foursome of gladiators, Carlos Petterson-Grifith, Julio Sinclair, Junica Pluck and Kean Andrews are en route to Barbados.
The goal of the quartet? To invade the shores and dominate Strong Fest where athletes from around the region will be displaying their strength prowess in a plethora of events over two days.
Back from an enforced hiatus due to the pandemic, Strong Fest will be staged tomorrow and Sunday at the St George’s Secondary School in the parish of St George.
Over the weekend, the athletes will be tasked with competing in the powerlifting segment on the first day and the ‘Strong Man’ segment on the second day.
Day One activities entail the squat, bench press and deadlift while the following day athletes will be tasked with doing tyre flips, overhead shoulder presses, farmer’s carry, yoke carry, the stone challenge, the sand bag challenge and the kettle bell backward throw.
Petterson-Grifith and Sinclair are the defending champions of day one and day two in that order.
The duo will be looking to successfully defend their titles while Andrews and Pluck will aim for the top podium spot in the women’s division.
There will also be team’s competition for the sleigh push/pull and the tug-o-war.
