Following their 1-0 defeat of West Ruimveldt in the quarter finals, East Ruimveldt U14 girls’ team will look to go all the way and win the Petra Organisation, Exxon Mobil U14 championships.
East Ruimveldt were 1-0 winners over their West Ruimveldt counterparts.
First, however, they will have to win today’s semi-final matchup against New Campbellville at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
That match begins at 2pm and will be followed by the second semi-final between New Central and Charlestown.
New Central reached the semis with a 3-2 defeat on penalties against Tucville after a scoreless regulation time finish.
Charlestown reached the last four via a walkover from Dolphin while New Campbellville sent a message to the remaining teams with a 4-1 whipping of Ann’s Grove.
In the earlier 5-8 plate section, West Ruimveldt will oppose Dolphin while Ann’s Grove will battle Tucville from 13:00hrs. In the boys competition another Ruimveldt team, West Ruimveldt, will also be seeking a finals berth when they take on Charlestown in the second match of a double header.
West Ruimveldt reached the last four courtesy of a Ronaldo Ramdass goal against New Central.
Their opponents, Charlestown, got the better of North Ruimveldt 5-1.
The other semi-final will pit Cummings Lodge against Ann’s Grove who whipped East Ruimveldt 3-0 in their quarterfinal clash while Cummings Lodge defeated Dolphin 5-2.
The top four finishers from each division will walk away with $300,000, $150,000, $75,000, and $40,000 respectively for a project within the respective institutions.
