Guyana’s Junior Jaguars recorded their second consecutive win in the Concacaf U17 Men’s Qualifying Championship, defeating Saint Martin 3-1 yesterday at the IMG Facility in Bradenton, Florida, USA.
Guyana’s starting XI for the match comprised: Duqain Samuels, Shakeel Welcome, Swade Edwards, Gerry Burnette, Seon Cato, Omar Sam, Krishtian Louis, Ronaldo Adams, Matrim Martin, Christopher Witter, and Shemaiah Samuels.
The trident of Martin, Kissoon and Bryan Wharton scored in the 36th, 70th and 76th minute respectively. In the other results from the group, Bermuda downed Bonaire 2-0 while The Bahamas edged the British Virgin Islands 1-0. Guyana will now tackle the British Virgin Islands tomorrow before concluding their campaign against Bermuda on Wednesday at 11:00am.
Group-B comprises Anguilla, Aruba, Martinique, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, while Group-C contains the Cayman Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. Group-D features Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Nicaragua, and Turks and Caicos Islands.
The respective winners from the aforementioned groups will progress to the 2023 CONCACAF U17 Men’s Championship in Guatemala.
