CANU finds cocaine in Route 32 minibus

On Wednesday, officers of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) conducted a routine operation at Meer Zorgen, on the western side of the Demerara Harbour Bridge, where they intercepted a Route 32 minibus. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing brick-like substances suspected to be cocaine.

According to the CANU Facebook post, several individuals, along with the substances, were escorted to CANU headquarters. The substances tested positive for cocaine and had a total weight of 14.1 grams. The persons detained are presently in custody, assisting with the investigation.
