British High Commissioner, Jane Miller, recently handed over a quantity of sports kits to the Guyana Rugby Football Union, (GRFU) at the National Park.
The donation came through British Charity, SOS Kit Aid and included balls, boots, mouth guards, T-shirts, shorts, bags, socks and more.
SOS Kit Aid collects donations as well as unused kits from rugby clubs/shops/schools in the UK and distributes them through British High Commissions across the world to rugby clubs as well as underprivileged children to promote rugby world-wide.
President of the Guyana Rugby Union, Ryan Dey, expressed gratitude and said the kits will contribute to their plans to encourage a new generation of rugby players. The gear will be distributed to the five clubs within the union.
