Dear Editor,
Yet again the koker has broken bringing untold destruction, losses and misery to the communities of Providence and Peter’s Hall. For too long this continues to happen with no apparent permanent solution being found. Wooden koker doors, should be a thing of the past and must be replaced with more durable material. It is high time. This has been said often enough. Enough is enough. It has happened again. Protruding steel rod from a concrete drain in a West Bank Demerara community, saw a child falling and injuring himself (GDN). This brings back a similar situation in an East Bank Demerara community not so long ago resulting in death. It seems the local authorities are not paying attention to these death traps in their communities. It is hoped the injured youth will soon recover fully.
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
