Charlestown man stabbed in neck after row over phone call

A Charlestown labourer was stabbed in the neck during an argument over a phone call.

The incident which occurred at Evan Street on Monday night, at about 22:00hrs, saw 27-year-old Linden Davidson suffering stab wounds to his neck and above his eye.

According to a Police statement, an argument erupted after Davidson heard the woman speaking to a man.

During the argument, the suspect reportedly armed herself with a knife and dealt the man a stab to his neck. As a result, Davidson jumped onto a bicycle and rode to the Ruimveldt Police Station where he made a report.

He was subsequently rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by Emergency Medical Technicians where he was examined by a doctor on duty. It was noted that he sustained a stab wound to his neck and above his eye. He was admitted and his condition is listed as critical.

The woman was later arrested at the Ruimveldt Police Station and placed into custody.
