Dear Editor,
Annette is a former minister of government and currently an Opposition Member of Parliament. She is vying for the position of Chairman of the George-town District. She is no stranger to the people of Georgetown and has a proven track record in not only grounding with residents of Region Four but also representing their cause in every sphere of politics and community matters.
Annette is a dedicated worker who holds the interest of the people of the capital city close to her heart. She is a people’s politician and no stranger to the Guyanese people. There is no question as to her dedication when it comes to representing and standing up for the oppressed. Her courageous fight against the regime is well documented and her fearless confrontations with Jagdeo and other reprehensible oligarchs in the PPP are well known.
Those who wish to foist their inexperienced surrogate, who has no track record in political work, on the people of Georgetown District must be reminded that the opposition will not become like the PPP in the area of cronyism. Democracy in any organisation requires that no leader must have full and complete control. Therefore, I join you the people of Georgetown in calling for all of us to throw our full support behind the woman of the moment, Miss Annette Ferguson.
