Women’s series set to bowl off tomorrow as Fiona passes

ST JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC – Inclement weather caused by the passage of Tropical Storm Fiona has forced Cricket West Indies to reschedule the start of the series between West Indies Women and New Zealand Women until tomorrow.

The series, which was set to bowl off last Friday, will now see the three-match One-Day International series running from September 19-25, followed by the five-match Twenty20 International series on September 8 to October 6.

“I’m delighted that we have been able to reach an agreement with NZ Cricket with no loss of games resulting,” said CWI’s director of cricket, Jimmy Adams.

“Hopefully the inclement weather doesn’t linger, and we can get the show started bright and early Monday.”

Tropical Storm Fiona passed through the Leeward Islands late Friday bringing heavy rain and winds. The tropical storm warning has been discontinued.

All matches in the series will be played at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in North Sound.
