A Crabwood Creek couple and their two children saw their house go up in flames yesterday morning after a pressure cooker exploded on the stove top.
Hemchand Bacchus, 47, a labourer of Lot 101 Grant 1806 Crabwood Creek, Upper Corentyne, explained that he resided in the two storey wooden building with his wife and children, who are ages 11 and 7.
When contacted, Bacchus said that he was not at home when he received news that his house was on fire. The man, who was still shaken up over the ordeal, related that he rushed home as his wife, Nalinie Sarju, 47, and children had been left at home. When he arrived he found them on the roadways.
