Dear Editor,
Just what is the law about the heavy good vehicles thundering along the nation’s highways during peak time? I ask because I was sitting with a legal harpy eagle in a refreshment parlour in Houston the other evening. We could barely hear ourselves speak over the caravans of big truck noise. Two weeks before coming from the airport there was a sphinx like cascade of sand trucks on the way to the highway.
Is there any law to limit HGV usage to certain hours and routes? Who, if anybody is enforcing the law? C’mon Anil, Robeson and COP step up to the pitch to prevent a big accident! My legal eagle tells me that you have the tools in the statute box, Dust them off, just requires the will. Action this day.
Sincerely,
John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’
