On a day highlighted by three draws, Christianburg/Wismar mauled Friendship 8-0 when the third Guyoil/Tradewind Tankers Secondary Schools Football League continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Daniel Adolph recorded a double in the third and 50th minute and Demoll Warner tallied a double in the 59th and 65th minute. Adding goals in the 10th, 33rd, 68th and 70th minute respectively were Amani King, Kemani Field, Lamar Jules, and Devon Gilbert.
Meanwhile, Cummings Lodge and West Ruimveldt battled to a 3-3 stalemate. Antwan Samuel, Elijah Mendonca, and Fabian Figueira scored in the fourth, 16th and 32nd minute for Cummings Lodge whilst Nicolas James, Trevor Bent, and Ozim Lewis netted in the 21st, 46th and 58th minute respectively for West Ruimveldt.
Similarly, North Ruimveldt and President’s College contested a 2-2 draw. Jevon Pluck and Omar Sam scored in the 13th and 54th minute respectively for North Ruimveldt while Shamar Barrington and Michael Joseph netted in the 36th and 57th minute for President’s College.
Likewise, Dolphin and Golden Grove battled to a 2-2 result. Brian Burnette and Jequan Cole found the back of the net in the 28th and 40th minute for Dolphin while Tyrese Liverpool and Yannick Liverpool etched their name on the scorer’s sheet in the ninth and 57th minute respectively for Golden Grove.
The tournament will conclude on November 6. All fixtures will be hosted at the Ministry of Education ground in Thomas Lands, Georgetown. The winner of the tournament will receive $500,000 towards a school project and the championship trophy. The second, third, and fourth place finishers will pocket $300,000, $200,000, and $100,000 respectively towards an initiative.
On the individual side, awards will also be presented for the Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper. The top two finishers in the event will qualify for the Goodwill International Championship.
