Santos and Georgetown Football Club (GFC) will contest the final of the inaugural Joshua Denny Memorial U20 Football Championship, following semi-final wins Friday evening at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown.
Santos whipped Camptown FC 6-1 in the opening match. Darren Niles crafted a double in the 15th and 23rd minutes while Tyrese Dowridge bagged a second-half brace in the 48th and 58th minute. Adding goals in the 35th and 70th minute respectively were Solomon Austin and Jaheim McPherson.
For the losers, Calvin Prince found the back of the net in the 68th minute. Meanwhile, GFC edged Fruta Conquerors 2-1. Ravi Coates and Shamar Welch scored in the 24th and 59th minute for GFC while Antonio MacArthur netted in the 68th minute for the losers. The final will be staged on Friday at the same venue.
