Miner charged with trying to kill sister

Fitzroy Patrick

A miner is now a remanded prisoner after being charged with the attempted murder of his sister as a result of an alcohol-fueled fight.

The charge against 33-year-old Fitzroy Patrick, of Micobie Village, Potaro River, alleges that on September 24 at Light and Lamaha streets, Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Ashana Patrick with intent to murder her.

The defendant was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which was read to him by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
