Fruta Conquerors U20 crushed Georgetown Football Club (GFC) U20 outfit during a friendly encounter staged on Wednesday evening.
Hosted at the GFC ground, Bourda, Georgetown, the visitors prevailed by a 4-0 scoreline. The fixture was used as a practice match for the home side ahead of their championship encounter with Santos FC in the maiden edition of the Joshua Denny Memorial tournament.
It was also the second meeting of the two teams in the space of 10 days. The Bourda-based outfit defeated Fruta Conquerors in their previous meeting 2-1, which occurred at the semi-final stage of the Joshua Denny Memorial competition. The final for the tournament, which was initially slated to be hosted today at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue, has been rescheduled to a later date.
The tournament is being held in memory of the former Camptown FC player who was robbed and brutally murdered on the 30th of September 2021 whilst on his way to work.
