Fazil Osman, who is accused of attempting to murder a woman, is now awaiting sentencing after admitting guilt to the charge.
At his arraignment yesterday morning before Justice Jo-Ann Barlow, Osman pleaded guilty to the attempted murder charge.
He accepted that on February 24, 2019, he chopped the woman to her head, neck, arms and about her body, with a cutlass.
Justice Barlow has deferred his sentencing until October 25th to hear from probation and other social impact reports.
Osman is being represented by defence attorney Teriq Mohammed, while the State is being represented by prosecutor Latifah Elliot.
The case was called at the Demerara High Court.
