Traditional giant Topp XX mauled Blueberry Hill 7-0 when the Upper Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League continued yesterday at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground, Linden.
The contest was essentially over at the halftime interval when the home side romped to a 3-0 advantage following a clinical display which commenced in the first and continued in the second half. The aforesaid carnage ensued during the space of 10 minutes.
Keon Hall opened the scoring in the 27th minute while Jamal Bentick got onto the scorer’s sheet three minutes later, lashing his effort past the custodian.
Hall then sealed his double in the 37th minute, slamming his effort into the back of the net. It went from bad to worse for the Blueberry Hill outfit as a further four goals were incurred.
Experienced midfielder Travis Waterton rifled a powerful shot into the far corner to make his presence felt in the 53rd minute before Delon Luke crafted a double to push the score to 6-0. Luke opened his account with a simple finish in the 56th minute before returning in the 78th minute to slot home and complete his account.
The lopsided score was then sealed in the 89th minute when Jevon Maynard etched his name on the scorer’s sheet.
Meanwhile, Silver Shattas and Hi-Stars contested a 1-1 result. Both conversions were recorded in the first half.
Osapho Ross found the back of the net in the seventh minute only for the experienced Damion Williams to fashion the equaliser in the 36th minute.
