Guyana took part in its first ever Esport International Competition yesterday in Paraguay at the ongoing South American Games.
Hemchandra Persaud was the nation’s representative.
The game played was Efootball 2023 produced by Konami.
It should be noted that in Guyana most players play FIFA Efootball which is produced by EA Sports but for the rest of South America play the Konami Efootball. The difference in algorithms in the different versions of the game was a challenge but a great experience for Guyana’s first international Esport player.
Results: Best of 3: First round lost to Ecuador 3-0 and 5-0. Second round lost to Uruguay 4-0 and 1-0.
Esport has also been added to the list of sports for the 2023 PanAmerican Games in Santiago, Chile.
