First Lady in collaboration on breast cancer awareness

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Office of the First Lady in partnership with Impressions Branding and the Guyana Cancer Foundation hosted a tree wrapping exercise in the avenue of Main Street yesterday.

First Lady, Arya Ali said that she used the opportunity to recommit her support in the fight against the disease by sponsoring mammograms for another 50 women. So far, her Office has sponsored mammograms for 100 women.

A release yesterday from the Office of the First Lady said that in 2020, breast cancer deaths in Guyana reached 96 or 1.34 percent of total deaths, while the age adjusted death rate was 25.5 per 100,000 of the population which ranked Guyana 23 in the world.
