The trial of Alvin Reid who is accused of the 2016 killing of 14-year-old Malika Hamilton is set to commence on October 11th before Justice Simone Morris-Ramlall at the High Court in Demerara.
The jury hearing the trial was empaneled on Wednesday morning.
The charge against Reid known as ‘Satan,’ is that he murdered Hamilton between August 8th and August 9th, 2016, at Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
He pleaded not guilty to the capital indictment when it was read to him.
Justice Morris-Ramlall has set Tuesday October 11th for the trial to officially commence.
Reid’s defence team is being led by attorney Konyo Sandiford, while the State’s case is being helmed by Prosecutor Muntaz Ali who will be calling just about a dozen witness to the stand to testify.
