The Sol and Rubis gas stations have lowered their fuel prices after state-owned GUYOIL slashed its tariffs on Sunday following a decision by the government.
Rubis Supervisor, Sarah Persaud told Stabroek News during a visit to the Vlissengen Road gas station yesterday that they dropped the price of gasoline on Wednesday and today the diesel price will be going down also. She expressed the hope that when people see the reduction they will come in to purchase fuel because when the price was high, sales were very slow. She also acknowledged that the demand for gasoline on Wednesday afternoon was much greater than the day before.
Rubis’s Pure 95 (Unleaded) gasoline is now selling at $217 per litre. The diesel price is however still at $279 per litre.
