With the Guyana Cricket Board’s Senior Inter-County 50-over tournament set to bowl off on Monday, Essequibo and Berbice have named their squads with several Guyana Amazon Warriors players included.
Left-arm spinner, Veerasammy Permaul will lead Berbice with his Amazon Warriors captain, Shimron Hetmyer, featuring in the squad. The squad also features West Indies’ left arm spinner, Gudakesh Motie, fast-bowling all-rounder, Romario Shepherd and off-spinner, Kevin Sinclair.
The Ancient County side is completed with the addition of Jonathan Foo, seasoned wicketkeepers, Jason Sinclair and Anthony Bramble along with off-spinner, Junior Sinclair, former West Indies under-19 batsman, Kevlon Anderson, fast bowlers, Nial Smith, Clinton Pestano and Demetri Cameron.
Meanwhile, National four-day vice-captain, Keemo Paul has been named in the Essequibo side alongside Ronsford Beaton with the team being captained by Antony Adams.
Returning to senior competitive cricket is all-rounder, Ricardo Adams who will be joined by Kevon Boodie, Quinten Sampson, Kemol Savory, Neiland Cadogan, Nathan Persaud, Garfield Philips, Eknauth Persaud, Haimant Singh, Wasim Mohamed and Kevin Christian.
According to the Territorial board, the three-round tournament will see all matches being streamed live including the finals which is set for October 16 from 09.00 hours at Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC).
The competition will be held in Demerara with Berbice clashing with Demerara in the first round at GCC on Monday. Essequibo will battle President XI at Everest on the same day.
On Wednesday, Round two will see Essequibo going up against Berbice at GCC while Demerara clash with President XI at Everest.
The third and final round will be played on Friday with Enmore Community Centre Ground hosting the clash between Demerara and Essequibo. GCC will host President XI versus Berbice.
