Guyana’s table tennis players bowed of of contention for singles honours at the South American Games currently underway in Paraguay yesterday.
Olympian Chelsea Edghill, the last remaining hope for singles glory, was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the women’s singles competition yesterday afternoon by Colombia’s Cory Mejia 6-11, 6-11, 6-11 and 2-11.
She had reached the quarterfinals after dismissing the challenge of Peru’s Isabel Duffoo in a round of 16 clash 12-10, 11-9, 11-8, 6-11 and 11-7.
