After waiting some seven months, cricket fans will have the opportunity to see the highly anticipated clash between Everest Cricket Club and Demerara Cricket club (DCC) in the Georgetown Cricket Association’s Noble House Seafood’s two-day second division tournament this weekend.
The clash will unfold at DCC where the hosts had knocked out Malteenoes Sports Club in March. Everest however had a different route to the final after playing to a draw against Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) but progressed on first-innings points.
DCC’s young troops will look to experienced campaigners, Steven Sankar, Joshua Persaud, Sachin Singh, Raymond Perez, and Qumar Torrington, along with up-and-coming talents in Jayden Campbell, Jonathan Van Lange, Nkosi Beaton, Carlton Jacques and others
Meanwhile Everest is expected to feature Dwayne Adams, Matthew Nandu, Richie Looknauth, Javed Rasheed, Aaron Beharry, and a host of future stars. The contest bowls off at 10.30 hours daily.
Also, the Atlantic Marine Supplies Inc, Suzuki Motorcycles Second Division T20 will continue on Saturday with GCC battling Diplomats at Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) from 9.30 hours followed by GNIC taking on the hosts at 13.30 hours.
Over at Malteenoes, Agricola will take on Police from 09.30 hours before Third Class clash with Malteenoes form 1.30 hours.
At Queen’s College, Guyana Defence Force will go head-to-head with Sophia in the morning while Ace Warriors will lock horns with Bel Air Rubis in the afternoon affair.
On Sunday, Third Class will go up against GNIC at MYO from 09.30 hours while Transport Sports Club will host GDF at the same time. Sophia and Bel Air Rubis will round off the weekend’s action in this tournament when they face each other at Queen’s College from 13.30 hours.
Additionally, two matches will be played in the Ramchand Auto Spares/Survival Group of Companies/ Trophy Stall Under-19 50-over tournament as Malteenoes take on GNIC at Queen’s College from 09.30 hours on Saturday and GT XI battle GCC at Malteenoes on Sunday.
