The ninth edition of the Courts Pee Wee Boys U11 Football Championship resumes today at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue in Georgetown.
At 11:00hrs, Mocha Primary battles St. Pius and Den Amstel engages St. Agnes, while Sophia tackles Tucville and F.E. Pollard matches skills with Redeemer from 11:50hrs.
Craig Primary and Graham’s Hall as well as Ann’s Grove and Enterprise will take centre stage at 12:40hrs while Timehri opposes Smith Memorial and Marian Academy engages St. Margaret’s from 13:30hrs.
At 14:20hrs, North Georgetown faces-off against Soesdyke, and Colaaco locks horns with West Ruimveldt with St. Stephen’s tackling Winfer Gardens at 15:10hrs. Den Amstel will then oppose St. Pius and Sophia will tackle Victoria at 16:00hrs.
The event will conclude on November 19 and all matches will be held at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue. The teams are divided into six groups of four. The top two finishers from each section and the four best third-placed teams will advance to the elimination round. The respective losers in the knockout section will progress to the plate division to battle for positions 5 to16.
The winner of the tournament will receive the championship trophy, gold medals, and a pair of uniforms. Each player will also be presented with an electronic tablet.
The runners-up will collect a trophy, silver medals and six balls, while the third-place finisher will pocket a trophy and four balls and the fourth place side will walk away with a trophy.
On the individual side, a trophy and a pair of football cleats will be presented to the eventual Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper.
