Sharon Scott, the 53-year-old woman who was burnt and chopped several times about her body by her late reputed husband three weeks ago at Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara, is still hospitalised.
In a telephone interview with Stabroek News, the victim’s niece informed that her aunt is still in hospital and it is unclear when she would be discharged.
Sharon was admitted to hospital after an early morning rampage involving her late husband, Leon Bobb, of Lot 24 Middle Walk, Ann’s Grove. Stabroek News had previously reported that Bobb chopped his sleeping son, Seon Scott, to death and then chopped Sharon several times about her body. He then drenched her in gasoline and set her ablaze. Bobb thereafter ingested a poisonous substance, cut himself in the abdomen and set himself ablaze.
The woman managed to escape and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) by her daughter. She suffered a wound to the left side of her neck and her right hand and was burnt about her body. Seon was pronounced dead on arrival at the GPH while Bobb died while receiving treatment at the hospital.
