A release from the ministry said that the visit was geared at setting up of the Telemed pilot project; installing of the medical gas pipeline at Lethem Hospital and addressing matters regarding pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.

The PS saw the establishment of Telemed satellite connections for Nappi, Yupukari and Parikwarinau with a connection scheduled for Gunns Strip in the coming week. A point person for each site has been identified and training is ongoing to ensure they are ready to operate the system.

Medical gas lines have been installed throughout the Lethem Hospital and there are plans to complete the project ahead of schedule.
