Dear Editor,
As a poet of Guyana (I am proud to appropriate to myself this designation) I have spoken of the abuse of power in many of my poems.
In reading the letters of the philosopher Samuel Johnson in the mid 70s, I came upon this statement of his:
If power be in the hands of men, it will sometimes be abused.
Is this statement applicable to those in power in Guyana? I wonder.
Yours faithfully,
Krishna Nand Prasad
