Christianburg/Wismar reclaimed the top spot in the 3rd edition of the GuyOil Secondary School Football League, crushing Cummings Lodge 4-0 yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Demoll Warner bagged a double in the 28th and 69th minute, whilst Kelvin Hintzen, and Amani King netted in the 26th and 34th minute respectively.
Meanwhile, Golden Grove and President’s College battled to a scoreless affair in a top-of-the-table clash. On the other hand, Dolphin Secondary mauled Friendship 6-0.
Jequan Cole crafted a helmet trick in the first, 34th, 51st, and 68th minute, while Jamal Williams and Daniel DeHaarte found the back of the net in the 58th and 68th minute respectively.
Similarly, North Ruimveldt crushed West Ruimveldt 4-0. The quartet of Hansjie Camacho, Omar Sam, Jevon Pluck, and Jayden James scored one goal apiece.
All matches will be 70 minutes in duration during the one-roundchaman initiative eventual winner of the tournament will receive $500,000 for a school project and the championship trophy.
The second, third, and fourth-place finishers will pocket $300,000, $200,000, and $100,000 respectively towards an initiative. On the individual side, awards will also be presented for the most valuable player, highest goal scorer, and best goalkeeper. The top two finishers in the event will qualify for the Goodwill International Championship. The tournament is also sponsored by Sterling Products Limited.
