United States of America-based Guyanese, Samuel Gittens has made good on his promise to continue to assist boxing prospect, Keyon Britton.
Britton, of the Vergenoegen Boxing Gym, impressed Gittens who sat ringside during the Winfield Braithwaite Caribbean School Boys and Juniors Tournament which was staged at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in August.
So much so, Gittens decided to become a benefactor of the young pugilist. Gittens benevolence has continued since, as recent as yesterday.
During a simple handing over, Britton was presented with assistance from President of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA), Steve Ninvalle on behalf of Gittens.
Ninvalle applauded Gittens’ support and added that if more individuals can follow in his footsteps, it would be a fillip for the development of the young pugilists.
“Our focus is on the juniors, school boys and youth and we are happy the Mr. Gittens could have seen it appropriate to come onboard, we applaud his gesture. As president of the association I really applaud that. If wen can have several other people taking these young boxers as what weve said is that our focus is our juniors, schoolboys and youths right now and we are happy that Mr Gittens could have seen it appropriate to come on board.”
Ninvalle disclosed that if Britton has to travel overseas for any tournaments, Gittens will also assist with the expenses.
