Guyana’s Malachi Moore, Jasmine Billingy and Samara Sukhai are through to the finals of the boys and girls U13 and U11 finals of the Caribbean Table Tennis Federation (CRTTF) mini and pre-cadet championships.
In the boys U13 final Moore will face St Lucia’s Manie Eleuthere while Billingy will face off against St Lucia’s Shatal Charles.
Moore lost to Eleuthere in the boys team final which St Lucia won 3-2 against Guyana and will be looking for a measure of revenge in Wednesday’s final.
In the semi-finals Moore defeated Trinidad’s Sekel Mc Intosh 11-8, 11-4, 11-6 after defeating St Lucia Vernon Salvator 11-6, 11-5, 11-6 in the previous round.
Eleuthere defeated Guyana’s Ebo Mc Neil 3-0 in his semi-final clash 11-6, 11-6, 11-9.
Billingy reached the final with a 3-0 defeat (8, 7, and 3) of Lyllana Boodhan of Trinidad.
Boodhan had ousted Guyana’s Akira Watson 3-1 (10-12, 11-4, 12-10, 11-8) in the previous round.
Sukhai, after drawing a bye in the first round, defeated fellow Guyanese Nakeiva Fordyce 3-0 in the semifinals while another Guyanese Seona Barker narrowly lost out on reaching the final after a 2-3 loss to Shackecy Damon in their semi-final clash.
