Cummings Lodge won the Secondary School Bible Club tapeball cricket competition, defeating Vergenoegen by 10 wickets Sunday at the D’urban Park Tarmac, Georgetown.
Batting first, Vergenoegen recorded 20-4 from their allotted five overs and, in reply, Cummings Lodge raced to 23-0 in 3.2 overs to walk away with the championship trophy. Captain of the victorious side, Tyriz Walters, was adjudged the Player of the Tournament.
Trevon Boston presented the trophy and medals to Cummings Lodge on behalf of the tournament organizers, the Holy Family Bible Club. The tournament featured 12 teams.
According to an official release from the coordinating team, a champion of champion’s tournament is penciled for October 29th at the same venue.
Sponsors of the tournament included Cummings Electrical Company, PKF Barcellos, Narine and Company, and the Trophy Stall. The event coordinator was James Lewis.
