The ninth Courts Pee Wee boys U11 football championship resumes Saturday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue in Georgetown.
At 11:00hrs, Enterprise battles Graham’s Hall, and North Georgetown engages F.E. Pollard, whilst Ann’s Grove tackles Craig and Redeemer matches skills with Soesdyke from 11:50hrs.
Den Amstel and Mocha, as well as St. Margaret’s and Timehri, will take centre stage at 12:40hrs, while Tucville opposes Victoria, and Colaaco engages St. Stephen’s from 13:30hrs.
At 14:20hrs, West Ruimveldt faces off against Winfer Garden, and St. Agnes locks horns with St. Pius, with Marian Academy tackling Smith Memorial at 15:10hrs.
The event concludes November 19 and all matches will be held at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue. The teams are divided into six groups of four. The top two finishers from each section and the four best third-placed teams will advance to the elimination round. The respective losers in the knockout section will progress to the plate division to battle for positions 5 to16.
The winner of the tournament will receive the championship trophy, gold medals, and a pair of uniforms. Each player will also be presented with an electronic tablet.
The runners-up will collect a trophy, silver medals, and six balls, while the third-place finisher will pocket a trophy and four balls and the fourth-place side will walk away with a trophy.
On the individual side, a trophy and a pair of football cleats will be presented to the eventual Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper.
