The men pleaded not guilty to the charge and were released on $200, 000 bail each. The matter was then adjourned until November 4.

The police had reported that Mangal, of Belmont, Mahaica, ECD, was at a popular bar located at Station Street, Kitty when two men, along with Bahadur, showed up in a vehicle, exited the same, approached the man and started punching him about his body, while telling him (Mangal) that they want their money.

According to the police, Bahadur told his two accomplices to take the man away, which led to them forcing Mangal in the back seat of the vehicle. It was said that the men also relieved the victim of a gold and diamond band, valued $1.5 million, a black diamond with gold ring valued at $1.2 million, and a gold chain worth $900,000.
