The Flying Stars Cycling Club will host a race meet tomorrow in honour of its former president, Randolph ‘Duckie’ Singh.
According to a release, the first annual Randolph ‘Duckie’ Singh Memorial event will be staged from 10:00hrs around the Vlissengen Road Circuit ‘honouring the legacy of a stalwart of the Club’.
The release stated that tomorrow, a series of criterium races for Seniors, Juniors, Veterans U-50, Veterans O-50, Pre-juniors, Ladies, BMX and ordinary cycles will be held with lucrative prizes up for grabs.
Tomorrow’s criterium meet will be sponsored by the club and friends.
Singh passed away last November at age 69 following a prolonged illness. Known for his generosity to athletes from various disciplines, Singh was the proprietor of Duckie’s General Store located on Russell and Sussex streets in Charlestown.
