Dear Editor,
Even as I began to pen these brief succinct points of enquiry the word on the WhatsApp media platform was/is that Guyana’s High Commissioner to India has been recalled. The accuracy of that will be confirmed by now, one way or the other.
My view was that if only a fraction of what was levelled against that so called diplomat was true, he should have been disciplined and dismissed for tarnishing our country’s image with his ghoulish behaviour.
He has certainly compromised his now legendary role in defeating his own government for an allegedly righteous purpose. The no-confidence motion precipitated months of an ugly attempt to hold on to power by any means necessary. Attempts at grand blatant electoral
thievery followed. The High Commission appointment was obviously some “reward”
Two questions in conclusion: were the female government ministers not offended by the High Commissioner’s gender assault in a foreign land? And just how and why are diplomat representatives chosen and appointed these days? Let’s scrutinise all who represent us abroad beginning now.
Yours faithfully,
Allan Arthur Fenty
