More than 300 student-athletes have registered to compete for spots on the Inter-Guiana Games (IGG) track and field team, according to President of the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG), Aubrey Hutson.
Hutson told this publication yesterday that ‘everything is on stream’ for the hosting of the IGG trials on Sunday at the National Track and Field Centre, in Leonora, West Coast Demerara.
The AAG head stated that he expects fierce competition on the track and in the field when action gets underway from 10:00am, since there are only 30 slots to be filled. “Fifteen males and 15 females” said Hutson who also added that meet records could be erased.
