Dear Editor,
I was mortified to learn that the Guyana Cricket Board, in its infinite wisdom, has changed elections from every two years to every four years. Talk about entrenchment and a blooming dictatorship – it is before us in all its glory.
Can the Guyana Cricket Board explain the rationale and provide a justification for having elections every four years? And this from a cricket board that is poorly performing, looks for photo opportunities and makes grandiose promises. But the core issue is why four years? Is this transparency and accountability?
