A belligerent century from Rajendra Singh ensured Bel Air Rubis a 99-run win over Ace Warriors yesterday in the Georgetown Cricket Association/Atlantic Marine Supplies Suzuki Motorcycles second-division T20 competition.
At Queen’s College Ground, Bel Air won the toss, elected to take first strike and piled up 195 for five in the 17-over affair after rain forced the contest to be reduced. Ace Warriors were then rolled over for 96 in 13.4 overs.
Singh hammered 11 sixes and six fours as he raced to 123 from just 58 balls before he was bowled by Deqian Wray (1-27). He added 84 runs for the third wicket with Andre Samaroo who made 13 from 16 balls.
Andy Lall was the only other batsman to reach double figures with a 10-ball 23 after hitting two sixes and two fours as extras chipped in with 22.
Dequan Murray and Davindra Lall took two wickets each for 20 and 40 runs respectively.
Singh returned with ball in hand to take 4-12 from three overs after removing Lall, Junior Phillips and Shabba Johnson in the 13th over.
Robert Davis top scored with 20 from 19 balls while useful contributions also came from Andre Meredith (17), Murray (16), Nkosi Whyte (14) and Roger Aarons (10). The disciplined Bel Air Rubis side did not give away a single extra.
Dean Thomas took 2-38 while Mahindra Jeenarine, Travis Persaud and Arvinda Gainda took one wicket each.
