Customers can now use their Mobile Money Guyana (mmg+) wallet at Massy Stores nationwide.
Bobita Ram, General Manager of mmg+, said in a press release “No matter where someone is or what type of transaction they need to perform, our focus as a company is to facilitate cashless transactions without hassle,” she said.
Ram said that the mmg+ platform also keeps the subscriber’s wallet’s safety in mind.
Store Manager at Massy MovieTowne Lasawhna Prescott said that the company is elated to bring increased value and convenience to its customers.
“With the introduction of mmg+ as a payment method at our five locations around Guyana, we are raising the bar for our customers. We hope to see more customers be able to pay the 21st-century way. It’s exciting to have them purchase the items they need quickly, so this initiative will also reduce the time people spend in line,” Prescott stated.
Customers can access this new payment method at all Massy locations nationwide – Montrose, Providence, Ruimveldt, Vreed-en-Hoop, and the super centre in the MovieTowne compound.
Already, subscribers can use their wallets at other local supermarkets such as N&S Matthai, Bounty Supermarkets, and Andrews Supermarkets.
Over the past few months, the release said that the mmg+ team has collaborated with several key stakeholders to add more options to pay using mmg+ in everyday life. As a result, thousands of subscribers have been able to utilize Breezepass at the Demerara Harbour Bridge and purchase fuel and other items at all of Sol Guyana’s Shell-Branded Service Stations throughout the country, and most recently the Transport and Harbours Ferrypass as an option for river travel.
“Having to run to the bank quite often or scrambling for money in your purse or bag is not always ideal or possible. It is especially not necessary when you have a solution in existence where you can transfer money from your bank account to your mmg+ wallet and pay for everything there. We will continue this path to ensuring everything you can pay for, can be paid for through mmg+” Ram stated.
The mmg+ platform allows individuals and businesses to send and receive money, pay utilities and hire purchase instalments, school fees, bridge tolls, purchase fuel, top up their phones, and pay for goods and groceries.
Almost 800 agents, are available in all regions across Guyana, ensuring easy top-up of accounts. The release said that they can be found at https://www.mmg.gy/ agents/
