Ninety residents of Herstelling on the East Bank of Demerara, and surrounding communities, on Sunday received their certificates at a graduation ceremony offered by the Board of Industrial Training (BIT).
A BIT release said that the ceremony was held at the Herstelling Assembly of God Global Outreach Center (HAOG GOC) and was attended by Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton, Chief Executive Officer of BIT, Richard Maughn, Head of the Herstelling Assembly of God Global Outreach Center, Dr. Ravindra Shiwnandan, among other officials of BIT and the Church.
The release said that the graduates were trained in Floral Designs and Event Decor, Information Technology, Cosmetology, Cake Decorating, Garment Construction and Catering programmes and it is the sixth collaboration between BIT and the HAOG GOC since 2009.
Hamilton praised the graduates for their commitment towards completing their studies to become employed.
