The final round of group stage matches of the MVP Sports Futsal Championships which was penciled in to commence this evening has been rescheduled for Saturday evening at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
This is according to an official release from the tournament coordinator, the Petra Organization.
“Please be advised that the matches scheduled for tomorrow [today] have been rescheduled to Saturday 5th November 2022. This is partly due to a clash with the GFA semi-final fixture that involves most of the players,” the release from the Petra Organisation stated.
In the female division Conquerors will oppose Herstelling at 18:30hrs while Santos will battle GT Panthers at 19:10hrs and the Guyana Defence Force will oppose Tiger Bay from 19:50hrs. In the final match of the section, the Guyana Police Force will take aim at Avocado Ballers from 20:20hrs.
In the men’s pool, Tiger Bay will oppose Mocha Family at 20:30hrs while Sophia will engage Campbellville at 21:15hrs.
Bent Street will battle Team Cruel at 22:00hrs and, in the fourth affair, Back Circle will lock horns with Vengy at 22:45hrs.
Sparta Boss will take aim at Stabroek Ballers at 23:3hrs while Gold is Money will match skills with Future Stars at 00:15hrs.
Upon the conclusion of the round-robin stage, the top two finishers and the two best third place teams will progress to the quarterfinals. The respective group winners will receive $50,000 while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will collect $30,000, $20,000, and $10,000 respectively.
The overall winner of the men’s tournament will collect $500,000, whilst the second, third and fourth-place finishers will receive $300,000, $200,000, and $100,000 respectively, and the corresponding accolade.
The resulting winner of the women’s section will pocket $200,000, while the second, third, and fourth-place finisher will receive $100,000, $50,000, and $20,000 respectively.
