Women’s team ousted Guyana men win

Scenes from the Guyana and Aruba clash in the men’s qualifying pool of the FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup Championship

Guyana was eliminated from the women’s division of the FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup Championship after losing convincingly to defending champions USA and Colombia at the AT&T East Plaza in Miami, Florida.

The Guyanese women lost to USA 2-21 in their final group match. In their opening group fixture, Guyana lost to Colombia 3-21. The team comprised of Kesann Charles, Tamara Hunter, Kennesha Leacock, and Jamaicy Ogle.

Meanwhile, in the men’s qualifying section, Guyana defeated Aruba 20-14. 

Guyana will attempt to secure their place in the main draw of the men’s pool when they face off with Ecuador and Haiti today.

The team consists of Shelroy Thomas, Nilkoloi Smith and Gordon James. The team is currently without Delroy James who is expected to arrive in Florida for the second match.
