Enterprise, St. Pius, Marian Academy and North Georgetown sealed their semi-final berths following quarterfinal wins in the Courts Pee Wee Boys U11 Football Championship at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue yesterday.
Enterprise bested Soesdyke 3-1. Toshan Haynes bagged a brace in the fifth and 19th minute, while Dontay Kowlessar scored in the 13th minute. For the loser, Nathan Roberts scored in the sixth minute. Similarly, St. Pius edged Redeemer 2-1. Aaron Vasconcellos recorded a double in the 28th and 30th minute. On target in the loss was Adiel Hamilton in the 22nd minute.
Marian Academy then crushed Ann’s Grove 4-0. Nyal George, Maxwell Viapree, Christian LaRose, and Ezon Bulkan scored in the third, fifth, ninth and 29th minute respectively.
Meanwhile, North Georgetown edged West Ruimveldt 6-5 on sudden death penalty kicks, after regulation time ended scoreless. The winner of the tournament will receive the championship trophy, gold medals, and a pair of uniforms. Each player will also be presented with an electronic tablet. The runners-up will collect a trophy, silver medals, and six balls, while the third-place finisher will pocket a trophy and four balls and the fourth-place side will walk away with a trophy.
On the individual side, a trophy and a pair of football cleats will be presented to the eventual Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper respectively.
